FAQ for Agents about YPP Partnerships

September 27, 2025

As a Canberra real estate agent, you know that presentation is everything. Pre-sale renovations can transform a “maybe” listing into a record-breaking result — but many sellers hesitate because of cost, time, or hassle. That’s where Your Property Profits (YPP) comes in.

We often get questions from agents about how our partnerships work. Here are the most common — with clear answers to help you feel confident introducing us to your clients.

Do I lose the listing if my client works with YPP?

Absolutely not. We’re not real estate agents — we’re renovation specialists. Your listing remains yours. We work alongside you to enhance the property and maximise sale potential.

How is my commission protected?

The sale goes through you, as normal. Your agency agreement with the vendor remains unchanged. YPP has no role in the sale transaction, only in the preparation of the home for market.

Do my clients have to pay upfront for renovations?

No. YPP funds the renovation costs upfront. These are repaid at settlement from the proceeds of the sale. This means you can confidently suggest improvements without worrying about your client’s immediate budget.

What if my client is sceptical about renovating?

We’ve found that showing sellers before-and-after case studies is the best way to demonstrate the value. Canberra examples — like kitchens, bathrooms, or curb appeal upgrades — make the benefits tangible. We’re happy to provide these case studies for your listing presentations.

Who manages the renovation process?

YPP handles everything — design, approvals, licensed trades, project management, and final presentation. You stay focused on selling, while we ensure the home is market-ready.

What types of renovations do you handle?

We specialise in pre-sale projects that deliver the biggest return:

  • Kitchens & bathrooms
  • Painting & flooring
  • Landscaping and curb appeal
  • Double glazing & energy efficiency upgrades
  • General repairs and compliance updates

What about approvals and compliance?

For any structural or regulated work, we follow ACT Government requirements through Access Canberra and ensure all trades are licensed. Safety and compliance are non-negotiable.

Does this slow down the selling timeline?

Not at all. In fact, our structured process usually shortens time-on-market because the property attracts more serious buyers. We create a tailored renovation plan that fits with your sales campaign.

Can I use YPP’s before-and-after photos in my marketing?

Yes! Partner agents have access to professional before-and-after content, including ROI numbers. These are powerful tools for your listing presentations and social media campaigns.

What if the property doesn’t sell?

This is rare, but in the unlikely event it happens, the renovation costs are still repaid when the property sells later. Our focus is on making sure the property achieves its best possible price in any market.
